# SetStateCommand **Extends:** [ESCBaseCommand](../ESCBaseCommand) < [Node](../Node) ## Description `set_state object state [immediate]` Changes the state of an object, and executes the state animation if present. The command can be used to change the appearance of an item or a player character.
